CLEAR Champions!

CLEAR-III World Cup Competition

Team USA-South is the CLEAR III Semi-Annual World Cup Champion. This was a close race but in the end USA-South proved worthy by beating team USA-Ohio-Michigan in a closely contested tournament. USA-South climbed to the top with great performances from University of Texas at Houston, University of Alabama, and University of Texas San Antonio.

University of Texas at Houston was the catalyst, enrolling 6 patients to lead USA-South to the top of the table. USA-South did not stop there. Rookie University of Alabama also enrolled 3 more patients since activation in July 2012 to increase the lead. In the end team Ohio-Michigan fell short by just 3 points.  Team Israel finished in third position with an outstanding performance from Chaim Sheba, enrolling 4 patients since July 2012.

These teams will have another chance to impress in the second phase of the CLEAR III World Cup tournament. The team finishing top of the table in July 2013 will be crowned CLEAR III Champions League winners. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the teams. Best of luck in the next round!

BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS 2013

A Dedication to Dan Hanley and the CLEAR and MISTIE Project Teams

Composed and sung in Waikiki on 05-February-2013 by Keith Gregson while attending the International Stroke Conference. It is set to an old cajun fiddle tune and dedicated to Dan Hanley and members of the CLEAR and MISTIE teams at JHU, Baltimore, Maryland. Keith is the spouse of Barbara Gregson, who manages the STICH-II trial and is a member of the CLEAR steering committee.

In 2013 we took a little trip to a famous city on the mighty Mississip
To watch Ray Lewis and his Superbowl machine meet the 49ers in the ‘town’ of New Orleans

We are proud to announce that on January 6, 2013, at approximately 18:07 Henry Ford Health System enrolled the 300th patient in CLEAR-III. This landmark achievement could not have been accomplished without the great dedication and commitment from everyone involved in the CLEAR trial since day one. A big thank you from everyone at BIOS to all of YOU who made this happen! We are confident that with your help and commitment we will continue to combat hemorrhagic stroke one patient at a time.  This is  a great milestone for our trial, with one more giant step towards the finish line at 500 patients. We look forward to celebrating future millstones with you. Thank you!!!!!
